Google Calendar booking for contractors connects your appointment workflow to the calendar you use for work. Before connecting anything, decide which calendar belongs to the business, who manages it, and which hours customers should be able to book.
Prepare before you connect
- Choose the correct Google account. Use the account intended for the business calendar. Keep unrelated employer or personal business calendars separate.
- Check the time zone. Your business booking settings and calendar should represent the same local times.
- Review booking hours. Choose times you can honor, including travel and preparation needs.
- Decide who handles requests. Give each inquiry a clear owner before sharing the customer form.
The Booked Work Pro setup path
- Business and hours. Create and verify your account, add the business details, choose your lead handler, and set booking availability.
- Google Calendar. Follow the connection step, choose the correct Google account, review the permissions shown by Google, and confirm the connection in Booked Work Pro.
- Customer form. Follow the form guide and create a test booking to check the customer experience and expected calendar entry.
Google Calendar connection is required in this setup. Growth includes one connected Google Calendar, and the FREE 14-day trial includes Growth features. See the setup overview and three-step guide for the product walkthrough.
Test the calendar, not just the connection label
A connected status is the starting point. Before offering appointments to customers, check an available time, create a test booking, and confirm the expected time and calendar entry. Also create a separate busy event in Google Calendar and check that the conflicting slot is unavailable in the customer booking flow.
If a time remains available when it should not be, stop sharing that booking flow and contact Booked Work Pro support. Do not assume the label alone proves conflict blocking or synchronization is working.
When Google authorization does not complete
Check that you chose the intended account and followed the requested permissions. If Google presents a verification warning or blocks access, do not bypass the warning. Contact support so the authorization issue can be resolved before using the customer booking flow.
Keep the next action visible
A calendar appointment should sit alongside the customer request and its pipeline stage. Record whether the appointment happened and whether the work was won. Use the contractor scheduling workflow to keep these stages distinct.
Frequently asked questions
Can I skip the Google Calendar step?
No. Google Calendar connection is required in the Booked Work Pro trial setup.
Should personal events be marked busy?
Mark events that should block work time appropriately on the calendar used for availability, then test the actual customer booking flow. Calendar choice and event settings matter.
Does this checklist prove my calendar is ready?
No. Complete the connection and test available times, busy conflicts, time zones, and a customer booking. Contact support if any test fails.
