An invoice should not introduce a surprise.
Use the agreed work and approved changes as your starting point. “Lawn care services” leaves the customer guessing; “Four completed mowing visits: agreed front and rear lawns, trimming and clearing hard surfaces” helps connect the invoice to the estimate.
Separate a requested deposit from money received.
The prior-payments field subtracts money you already received. If you are requesting a deposit, describe the billing milestone in the items and terms; do not subtract an unpaid deposit.
Tax follows your rules and your settings.
Mark the appropriate taxable items and enter the applicable rate. The tool allocates an invoice-wide discount proportionally, then calculates tax on the discounted taxable portion. If your rules require a different treatment, adjust the invoice with your own accounting process.
Make the next step specific.
Include the agreed due date and actual payment instructions. A generated invoice does not email the customer, process a payment, or create an account in BWP.
After a payment arrives, use the FREE receipt generator. Before the work begins, start with the FREE lawn service scope builder.
